The Answer
In the spring of 2001 I became a basketball fan. I would like to say 'again' but in all my sports watching as a child and teenager, I never really got into basketball. Then I went to a Raptors game and I've been a dedicated fan ever since. It was during the playoffs that year that I discovered Allen Iverson. Here was this guy, who, despite what the stat sheet says, is basically my height and build, playing among the NBA giants. And he won the MVP that year. I place a lot of value in the way a person comes across. I do make character judgements based on behaviour. Allen Iverson just has so much charisma, on and off the court, I just can't help but like him. Watch him play and you'll see what I mean. ¶ This illustration took me many hours to complete. I wanted it to mark an evolution of my style, but at the same time I wanted it to look like a Siteway piece. I'm quite happy with the result. Let's hope Allen is. He is, after all, the owner of the first print in this series. |
