The Gentleman I started buying GQ magazine at far too young an age when I thought being a man meant being over eighteen. What I didn't know at the time was that Art Cooper was the Editor and continued to be right up until summer 2003 when he sadly passed away days after retiring from the helm. He is credited with making GQ what it is today. ¶ From what I can gather he seemed like a man who loved what he did and was committed to a vision for the magazine he obviously loved. The magazine will live on, for better or for worse, and we're probably better off having had Art Cooper edit a men's lifestyle magazine in the late twentieth century. |
