Pure Zappa
In university, I always felt a little square when faced with my friends' rapid-fire Zappa references. I thought 200 Motels was interesting. Not good, but interesting nonetheless. ¶ Frank Vincent Zappa was born on December 21, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland. Truly an icon, Frank Zappa is impossible to fit into any neat category. When he died, in 1993, his family issued the following statement: "Composer Frank Zappa left for his final tour just before 6pm Saturday." ¶ I did this illustration as a birthday gift for my friend Jay Somerset. |
